I created RBTExamPrep.com to give you the most realistic BCBA mock exam experience possible 185 questions designed to feel just like the real thing.
My goal isn’t just to help you pass, but to help you understand every concept deeply.
Whether you get a question right or wrong, you’ll see detailed feedback explaining why, so you’ll be ready for that type next time. I want you to walk into test day feeling confident, calm, and prepared.
Many students have shared that these questions felt almost identical to the real exam and that’s exactly what I was aiming for. I’d love to hear how you did please share your score in the comments below! It really helps encourage others who are preparing for the exam. 🙂
I built this site to keep high-quality BCBA prep resources free and accessible for everyone, which is why it’s supported by ads. If it helped you, it’d mean a lot if you shared it with your peers.
If you want to keep practicing, check out the BCBA section for more tests and study materials!

#1. A trainee is discussing the implementation of Non-Contingent Reinforcement (NCR) with a stakeholder. The stakeholder asks for clarification on whether the type of reinforcement and the function of the target behavior matter when delivering NCR. How should the trainee, guided by a supervising BCBA, correctly respond to ensure conceptually sound and effective intervention?
When implementing NonContingent Reinforcement NCR it is critical that the reinforcer delivered is both a maintaining reinforcer for the individual and that it matches the function of the target challenging behavior NCR works by delivering a reinforcer on a timebased schedule independent of the challenging behavior typically as an abolishing operation AO The goal is to reduce the motivation to engage in the challenging behavior by providing the same type of reinforcement that the behavior historically produced If the reinforcer does not effectively abolish the motivation ie its not a maintaining reinforcer or if it does not match the function eg providing tangibles for escapemaintained behavior the intervention is unlikely to be effective For example if a behavior is maintained by attention delivering noncontingent attention would be appropriate If its maintained by escape delivering noncontingent breaks or demands reduction would be more effective Therefore identifying the function and using a functionally matched maintaining reinforcer are crucial for the effectiveness of NCR
